This chapter asks if differences between generations in their ideas of "good work" is real or mere imagination.
There is a public debate on the work values of "generation Y" and how they matter for human resource management. However, the number of empirical analyses for Germany studying the differences between generations concerning work values is small. This contribution analyses differences in the work values of generations separately from age- and career-effects using ALLBUS-data. The result is that the differences are not as expected.
